Vegan Chocolate Smoothie

This smoothie is my all time favorite. To be honest, I have been eating this for breakfast almost none stop for a few months nowXD If you love chocolate like me, you’ll love this Vegan Chocolate Smoothie.

This Vegan Chocolate Smoothie is the perfect breakfast you have been looking for

I used to eat oatmeal for breakfast every single morning. In the summer I started making smoothie bowls and fell in love with them. Since then, they have been the thing I crave every morning when I wake up. I have noticed that my stomach can digest smoothies a lot better than oatmeal. I often get pretty bloated after having oatmeal, so that’s why smoothies have been a great switch.

The thing I love about smoothies is that you can add pretty much anything in them. I always add some peanut butter to get those healthy fats that we all need. Peanut butter also gives the smoothies a great texture. I also like to add a little bit of vegan protein powder into my smoothies.

Chia seeds are one of my favorite superfoods. I often top my smoothie bowls with them. I used to add chia seeds into the blender before mixing the smoothie and made a terrible mess. The seeds get stuck everywhere. I have learnt that the best way is mixing the seeds with the ready smoothie. Chia seeds also make the smoothie more fun because you have something to chew on.

I like to add one date to my chocolate smoothies. Dates give them a caramel-like flavor. Some IBS sufferers can’t tolerate dates, not even in small amounts. If that’s your case, I would recommend using maple syrup as the sweetener. You could put about one tablespoon of maple syrup into this Vegan Chocolate smoothie. Of course, you could also add a little bit of coconut sugar if you would like to get that same kind of caramel-like flavor that the dates have.

You can use any plant based milk you like in this smoothie. Almond milk is my go-to dairy-free milk. Sometimes, I like to add also a little bit of coconut milk. That gives the smoothie a super creamy consistency. When I want to mix things up, I change the milk I use. If you like your smoothie extra chocolatey, you can add more cacao powder. You could also use a chocolate-flavored protein powder.
